Philanthropy Statement

The Raleigh-Durham Caged Bird Society is a nonprofit organization that provides funding to avian projects throughout the world.  Each year we raise funds that are donated to various organizations in an effort to support avian research.   Recipients of our grants include, but are not limited to: The North Carolina State University Veterinary School and Dr. Keven Flammer for ongoing research in avian medicine, The Tambapata Macaw Project and Dr. Donald Brightsmith, and the American Federation of Aviculture.  This year, the AFA funds were designated to go to the Loro Parque project.

In addition to the annual grants, we make donations to various avian causes that are deemed deserving by our Board of Directors.  This year we made a substantial contribution to AFA for their relief efforts to the avian victims of Hurricane Katrina and those left homeless and in need of food and supplies in the ravaged Gulf Coast region.   If you would like to support the Raleigh-Durham Caged Bird Society by making a donation, you may do so by clicking on the “DONATE” button below.  You can rest assured that your tax deductible contribution will go toward furthering avian research and education.  Thank you in advance for your donation.
